Questions

What is Letterpress Printing?

Letterpress is a relief method of printing that is specific to traditions and machinery in printing lead and wood type. Contemporary methods of letterpress use a photo-mechanical plastic, called photopolymer, that allows for a greater range of printing possibilities. Since letterpress is a relief method— meaning the raised surface prints— the printed product has an indented or debossed effect.

What is an Artist's Book?

If we defined the Artist's Book then we would be in a mess of trouble; for our purposes, an artist's book is a work of art that uses the form and/or thematic interests of a book. Book arts are constantly changing as we rethink notions of art, books, and wherever the two meet.

Do you have minimum or maximum project size?

Twin Bee Press has no minimum project size, as we are a pretty small operation. In having no bottom cap, this makes us very flexible; however, since we are small, some large projects are not so do-able. What consistutes a "large project" varies so don't be afriaid to ask.
